The film Ujda Chaman starring Sunny Singh, Maanvi Gagroo, Saurabh Shukla, Karishma Tanna and Aishwarya Sakhuja in pivotal roles, talks about a balding 30-year old bachelor and his search for a beautiful wife. As the film released this Friday, it has been making rounds in the tabloids for its similarities with Ayushmann Khurrana, Bhumi Pednekar and Yami Gautam starrer Bala. Amidst the controversies, Sunny Singh’s Ujda Chaman minted Rs 3.30 crores on Saturday taking its total box-office business to Rs 4 crore which isn’t a good number.
Directed by Abhishek Pathak, Ujda Chaman hit the theatres on November 1 collecting Rs 2.35 crores on Day 1. According to a report in BollywoodHungama, the Sunny Singh starrer has minted a total of Rs 3.30 crores on Day 2 . As the weekend is not over yet, the collection of the film is expected to increase on Sunday. Talking about the film Ujda Chaman, it is produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak under the banner of Panorama Studios.
Ujda Chaman is a remake of the 2017 Kannada film Ondu Motteya Kathe and is co-produced by Aaradhya Maheshwari.
SpotboyE.com editor Vickey Lalwani rated the film with 2 stars and said, “baal nahin ujde, but this Sunny Singh story is bald on engagement.” He also mentioned how the film comes out like a noisy play and expressed how the music team needs a break.
